FAQ

Sessions available last between 1 and 2 hrs depending on how long a session you have booked.

Please dress for the weather: If it’s chilly we’ll provide extra equipment. Wetsuits are optional during the summer and you'll probably overheat wearing one. We recommend bringing quick drying clothing such as leggings / swim shorts and advise avoiding cotton and jeans that are cold and uncomfortable when wet.

Please bring clothes you don’t mind getting wet and footwear to wear on land. Please dress for the weather and try to avoid cotton and jeans that are cold when wet. Bring a change of clothes.

We offer high quality buoyancy aids for all sizes and all participants are required to wear one. As well as this, for stand up paddle boarding in sheltered environments, common practise is to be attached to your board with a leash at all times. The board is your buoyancy aid, as with surfing. If you find yourself in the water, then you are still attached to a giant floating object, which will be by your side ready for you to hop back onto

For any water-based activity we recommend that you should be able to swim at least 50 metres unaided (approximately two lengths of a standard swimming pool). You should be happy and confident in the water. Please ensure any children in your care meet these criteria too.

The water temperature varies according to the season. You might expect 8 degrees in March and 20 degrees in August. We recommend winter-weight wetsuits, boots, hoods and gloves in cooler months. Our wetsuit hire is seasonally appropriate.

Absolutely! We’ll carry a camera with us to capture your adventure. We enjoy taking photos, but since some people (us included) don’t like a lens in our faces, we aren’t pushy with it (and will never try to sell you shots). If you’d like particular photos though, please do let your instructor know, and we’ll be happy to help!
